TfL oversees a huge and diverse portfolio of programmes. Planning is seen as a critical success factor however due to an increase in reliance on external resource TfL had do develop and manage a new bespoke planning apprenticeship scheme.
We ensured compliance with government funding regulations to deliver a recognised training plan. We made sure to adapt the internal management and mentoring of the apprentices over time as we learnt more and ensured the business was ready to embrace the challenge.
Keeping a focus on apprentice community and adapting as we learned what worked, and what didn’t enabled the planners to exceed all expectations, they’re all well on their way to fulfilling, successful careers in project controls.
